Kath's Rich Fruit Cake Recipe

I've no idea who Kath was but it was a good fruit cake...

Ingredients

10oz Plain Flour
8oz Sugar
8oz Butter
1lb Currants
8oz Sultanas
4oz Peel/cherries
2oz Ground almonds
1Tsp Baking powder
Pinch salt
4 eggs
1Tsp Black treacle
1 Grated apple
Pinch ginger
1TBS Rum

Method

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat 'till mixture is stiff. Stir in flour and all dry ingredients. Add fruit and rum.

Bake at 335(F) (170C) or Gas 3 for 1/2 hour. Then Gas No 1 (140C) for 3.5 hours.
